PPS&CF Funds Available to Teachers and Staff Now; Grant Application Update For Next School Year
- The Park Public Schools & Community Foundation has $10,000 available to grant to teachers and staff now (max of $250 per applicant) to support in-person and distance learning needs this school year.
- For next school year, the Foundation is delaying the start of the grant application cycle to later this Spring 2021.
A note from the PPS&CF Grants Committee:
Dear St. Louis Park Public Schools Teachers and Staff –
The Park Public Schools & Community Foundation (PPS&CF) typically begins accepting grant applications for the next school year on February 15th of the current school year. For the 2021-2022 school year, however, we have decided to push back the opening of our grant application process for next school year (currently anticipated to open on May 1, 2021). Given the current pandemic, our hope is that by delaying the start of the application process to May, teachers, staff and the Foundation will have a better sense for what the 2021-2022 school year will look like and how grant dollars may best be utilized to support our St. Louis Park Public Schools students. As a Foundation we are striving to be thoughtful and flexible during this unprecedented time in hopes of best serving the needs of our students and community. Please check https://www.slppscf.org/apply-for-a-grant.html for updates on our 2021-2022 school year grant application process.
In the meantime, the PPS&CF knows that teachers and staff are working tirelessly this 2020-2021 school year to serve our students. Given the many COVID-19 protocols, we anticipate that there may be in-person or virtual classroom needs for which funds are not available. In an effort to ease this strain, the PPS&CF has created a Spring 2021 Emergency Fund for teachers and staff. The Spring 2021 Emergency Fund is capped at $10,000 and each grant applicant may apply for a maximum of $250 dollars to support distance learning instruction or in-person classroom instruction and practice during COVID-19. Grant applications will be reviewed and processed on a first come/first served basis, with a response within one week following receipt of application.
